Service X29 version shipping...
Merchandise Service cars are shipping. They're a nightmare to decal, but the first few are done and shipped out! There were only a dozen of these made so I doubt you will ever see them being resold.
Circle Keystone X29 versions complete.
Unfortunately, the modifications
made by the builder were not working to our satisfaction. In order
to get past these issues and to meet our customers expectations, we purchased a milling machine and made the necessary modifications ourselves.
We had to design and have built milling fixtures to hold the X29s and trucks
in place to make the necessary modifications. This is far beyond the level of effort we
intended to exert to bring an X29 to the S scale community.
Nonetheless, we saw the project to completion.
G26 project has ended...
As you know, it took us a decade to complete the X29 project, see above. The G26 project was heading in the same direction so a decision had to be made. We discussed our options with our builder and we decided to return all in stock G26 models. We made sure to satisfy any orders we may have written and there are quite a few of the models out in the S scale community. It is a disappointment to return the cars, but we honestly don't have enough energy for another decade project.
What will happen to the returned G26 models?
Although we are not sure, Bill and I suspect that the G26 will return to the S scale market. It will either be sold in an as-is form or the builder will resolve the production issues and sell them as completed cars.
